Pregnancy Update -Or- Peeing into a Jello Mold

Filed under: Mexico, Pregnancy - Gabriela @ 5:27 am

Hello from Big City.  Thanks for finding me and commenting.  It was so nice to have comments after the evil Beta experience.  So to answer a few questions: Blogsome so far is ok, I don’t like how the comments are set up, they don’t seem as user-friendly to me (I miss seeing your pictures), but everything else is pretty easy (at least the basic stuff). I can’t figure out how to do spell-check so forgive my errors.  I am not a good speller (ABC Momma, can you help me out here?).

Guapo doesn’t actually work in the Pants building.

And, my apologies to those Bloggers who haven’t changed to Beta and don’t allow anonymous comments, I can’t comment on your blogs (UTmommy, TXmommy).  I am still reading them :) .

Paulette was nice enough to ask about how I’m doing in the pregnancy department so here’s the update:  I am almost 15 weeks along.  I am feeling better in that I don’t hate all food and things related to eating, but I am still getting sick.  But, at least we are headed in the right direction.

Today I went to the doctor for the first time in Big City.  The doctor is a nice woman from India who was recommended as someone who isn’t in love with C-sections like most doctors are here.  After 3 normal births, I don’t want to go through the recovery involved with a C-section.  The appointment was pretty normal except for the fact that the urine samples are collected in the same containers they use for individual servings of Jello or flan.  Strange.  Mexicans love their jello.  Just ask No Cool Story.

So that’s it in the pregnancy front.  Oh, I almost forgot, the baby was very wiggly.  She had a hard time keeping the little heart rate do-dad machine  on the heartbeat.  Margarita was wiggly.  Could it be another girl???

  1. So, here you are! I was wondering whatever happened to you. I’ve heard a lot of bad things with the whole beta experience. Sounds like a rotten deal to me! I like your new look, though.

I’m glad you’re starting to feel a little bit better at least. Hopefully the sickness stuff will be over with soon.

  3. I hate it when the baby moves so much they struggle to get a good heart beat. For some reason it makes me nervous. For what it is worth, they have struggled with that this whole pregnancy and I am having a girl.

  4. Ok, so eating jello out of one of those containers is out of the question now.
15 weeks, yay for you. When you talk to your Big City doctor, do you speak in English or Spanish? Got any baby names yet?
You know what I do about spell check? I write my post/comments in Word and then just copy-paste to the blog.

  5. Hey, girl! Glad to hear you are doing well with the baby. So did you guys venture down town last night for the big to do? El Zocalo? I bet you will never return to blogger after you have problem free posting over here. I’m jealous but too lazy to do a darn thing about it!

  7. NCS: Good idea, I am just being lazy. I’ll do that.

Amerimeximadre: We didn’t venture out. We watched it on the tube. Boring, eh?

Valerie: Juan Carlos was born in Venezuela. So now well have a Utah Mormon, a Coon-Ass (born south of I-10 in Louisiana), a Venezuelan and a Mexican!

  8. I changed my blog to allow anonymous comments, so maybe you’ll be able to now. Glad to hear you are doing a little bit better. I hope you don’t have to have a c-section, I’ve heard they are horrible.

  9. Hey, glad to hear you and Jr. are doing well, and that you were able to find him/her. My friend Marcie just had her ultrasound and it took the tech a full hour just to find the baby. Just a tad scary! Those naughty babies!

  11. Ok, might have been a good idea, but it doesn’t help my bad grammar :)
I was also wondering if you guys had gone to any Fiesta; sometimes is better to just stay home and not brave the crowds.
    Your family is so Internacional!
